Brief history/Other character info:
The war torn kingdom Daven was from had reached the peak of conflict. Armies ran unchecked across vast expanses of land, looting and burning any villages that hadn’t sworn allegiance to their lords. His father had been taken shortly after he was born to unwillingly serve in the ranks of the army that was currently in control of their land. Since he was young he carried the burden of taking care of his mother and sister. Naturally, this brought a close relationship between the siblings throughout the years. It was shortly after dawn when billows of smoke rose in the distance, quickly lining the horizon just beyond the village he lived in. Daven, who was now around the age of 10, was shaken as he saw his mother hurry from the small hut they lived in. She carried only a small package, and with her other hand had his sister in tow. She would lead them to the only horse they owned, and told Daven to take his sister and flee to the capital city which was several leagues away. Promising she would meet them there eventually, she got Daven to reluctantly agree before helping his sister onto the horse and riding off. As he moved further away, he could hear the faint sounds of screams fading into the distance as the army quickly closed in on the village. The journey to the city took several days, and the two siblings had easily finished the small provisions they had been given. His sister soon fell ill in the long journey, despite his best efforts to take care of her and even giving her most of his share of food. Through torrential downpour, Daven could see the massive walls and the gate of the city. He felt a surge of relief as he approached, quickly banging on the gate only to have a guard open a small panel and begin questioning him. Daven soon found out that they weren’t allowing outsiders into the city out of fear of retaliation from the armies. He screamed at the guard for several minutes, tears streaming down his face as he begged him to let the two into the city and explaining that his sister was sick. Eventually giving up, he took his sister to find the nearest cover from the rain. He came upon a small run down shack, quickly picking his sister up and taking her inside. Daven would do everything he could for his sister, but despite his best efforts her condition worsened. She would eventually thank her brother in her last few minutes of life, taking the necklace she had always worn and passing it into Daven’s hands. It was in this moment that Daven would forever change, deciding that he would never again be too weak to defend those he cared about. From here, he traveled vast distances with the sole purpose of learning to become stronger. It was this drive and intent that would rob him of having a normal childhood, instead he only spent his days fighting to survive. He came to a coastal city surrounded by jungle and upon hearing rumors of the strongest group of bandits he marched through tough terrain and found their hideout. The half orc woman that lead them didn't have the heart to kill Daven when he showed up, and instead told him to fetch a fang from a tiger which was notorious for killing off men. Nearly a week had passed before he showed back up, much to the bandits surprise, badly injured but with his prized fang. It was with some reluctance that the half orc woman took Daven in and looked after him, training the boy in her own way (which often involved other life threatening situations to 'toughen' him and make him stronger). He stayed with the group a few years, until he reached the age of 15. From there, now considered a 'man' by their standards he struck off on his own, setting back to traveling with the intention of growing stronger still and honing his skills with the blade. Within a few short years he had learned much from his travels before he found his way to Salamander. His time here was short spent, however, and he eventually found his way into Eldarus.
