DRAGONS –

Dragon characters are heavily restricted due to how potentially overpowering they can be. Playable characters who wish to be dragons will be limited in size and power. Player dragons can be no larger than 30 feet from head to tail. Their scales have the armor equivalent of steel plate. The softer, underbelly scales have the armor equivalent of steel chain mail. Transformation from a human to dragon form or back requires two full posts to complete.

LYCANTHROPES –

Lore of were-creatures varies heavily by source, so by way of standardizing, they will work by the following rules. Lycanthropic characters have three available forms: Human, Hybrid, and Feral. Transformations require two full posts to complete. Transformation will be connected to the lunar cycle. During most of the moon’s phases, lycanthropes can transform anytime after sundown as they please into any form. There are two exceptions to this. During the New Moon, these creatures cannot transform at all. They will remain in their human form. During the Full Moon, their transformation happens on its own, turning them into their full feral form. While resistant (not immune) to typical damage, lycanthropes are vulnerable to damage dealt by silver. Wounds from silver weapons are more harmful than average wounds and heal significantly slower.

Human: In this form, the character is fairly normal human being. They may have somewhat heightened senses of sight, smell, hearing etc. as pertains to their animal type.

Hybrid: In this form, the strength of the creature is added to the human. They are large, half human creatures with the traits of the specific animal emulated. They retain the ability to speak and think like a human and acquire the instincts and senses of the animal.

Feral: In this form, the character is almost entirely in the form of the animal. They have the size, strength and abilities of that creature. Their ability for rational thought is diminished to a more instinctual form.

Lycanthropes have the ability to turn other people into lycanthropes, however doing this to playable characters requires both the player’s agreement and an admin’s approval.

VAMPIRES –

Vampires do not sparkle . . . except for Mika. He sparkles . . . a lot. Vampires do, however burn in the sunlight. If caught in sunlight, vampiric characters start to burn immediately and must get out of the sun as quickly as possible. At the end of three posts, if the vampire hasn’t reached cover, he/she is so badly burned as to be disabled and unable to act. After five posts, he/she is dead. Any attack or effect that mimics sunlight will count as one post of sunlight damage on a successful direct hit. Injury caused by sunlight heals very slowly (more slowly, in fact, than comparable burns to a normal human). As powerful undead, vampires are quite difficult to kill. A vampire can only be killed by having his heart destroyed or removed, or his head removed. Other physical damage heals quite quickly. A full day of rest is suitable to heal most or all physical damage done to the vampire’s body. Vampirism cannot be 'cured' instantly. It will require minimum of two days to become 'cured' of vampirism, but the process is extremely dangerous and painful. The character would take some serious damage, and likely have long lasting effects. It may even be fatal. This cure MUST be played out IC.
Vampires have the ability to turn other people into vampires, however doing this to playable characters requires both the player’s agreement and an admin’s approval.

GIANTS –

Giants can be up to 20 feet tall. Their strength is proportionate to their size, of course. Otherwise they are anatomically the same as humans . . . only bigger.

ANGELS/DEMONS –

The parameters for these characters are difficult to define as they can vary so greatly in type and powers. Such creatures, while on our earthly world may be immortal and ageless, however they are still in a physical body and can be destroyed as such. A being so killed returns to whichever heaven or hell from whence they came and cannot return to the world for four months.

GODS –

Players may not play actual deities. With approval, however, they may play an avatar, a physical representation of a deity. Their powers should be indicative of the appropriate deity, but are much less powerful. As with angels or demons, these beings are in physical bodies and can be destroyed as such. A being so destroyed returns to its corresponding deity and that deity cannot send another avatar to the world for two months.

IMMORTALS –

Immortality refers only to natural life span. An immortal character can live forever, but can also be killed as any living being can.

NECROMANCERS -

A necromancer's ability to raise undead must have its limits as an unlimited army of npc zombies is unwieldy to say the least. A necromancer can have up to three npc undead at a time. If one drops, another can be raised, but a suitable corpse must be available.

LICHES –

Liches, the powerful undead nasties that they are, are difficult to kill, but not invincible. Their life force is connected to a phylactery. The form of that phylactery depends on the lich. When the lich’s body is killed, the life force returns to it and the lich cannot return to its physical body for one month. If the phylactery is destroyed, the lich is dead permanently.

A lich’s ability to raise undead must have its limits as an unlimited army of npc zombies is unwieldy to say the least. A lich character can have up the five npc undead at a time. If one drops, another can be raised, but a suitable corpse must be available.
