"Fires of the Ancient One" -- Event part 1 Empty
PostSubject: "Fires of the Ancient One" -- Event part 1   "Fires of the Ancient One" -- Event part 1 Icon_minitimeMon Jan 17, 2011 3:22 pm

It began as a pleasant evening in the city of Eldarus. Citizens strolled about the marketplace, looking over the merchants' wares. At Ellington's Last Stop, a local tavern, a lively crowd drank and caroused. That is where our story begins . . .

Ellington's Last Stop:

There's the sound of leaves rustling in the wind, and a puff of snow comes out of the alley way as if there was a gust of wind. The crunch of snow and uneven footsteps that match with them announce the presence of a heavy man. Out of the alley comes a figure wrapped in animal skins and dark fabrics stitched together in a crude fashion. There was a large pole like object on his back, like a staff that bulged at the bottom though it was swaddled in bandages to hide it. He moves through the doorway and takes his usual seat in the corner, half covered in shadows. Only the area around his eyes was visible, those grey colored eyes scanning the room "Dégoûter. . . Traîner comme s'ils ont la droite pour vivre. . . Les elfes d'Orcs et les créatures qui ne devraient pas exister. . . “

High Orc yawns audibly and takes another gulp of the amber liquid before answering in a serious tone. "I don't know the situation, I be past the days when I'd be killin' anyone fer a buck. But assumin' he be one o' the bad guys, or someone who deserve to be losing his head, then methinks 1000 gold ought to be sufficient." Bloodmonath furrows his brow upon catching Curos Vern's scent, but he raising them to normal soon after, his back was to the wall and he wore his gauntlets this evening, ensuring that no one would be able to sneak up on him by anything but conventional means

Oswald McBeaty is walking down the street, and notices the Last Stop "This is that other bar Trega mentioned, I wonder what all the fuss is about" he says to no one in particular. He smiles and walks in the door.

Rynn Ravencross nodded to Cedric, digging out a coin to hand him. "Thank you," she said, her body stiffening as she heard the woman's voice, though other than that she wouldn't give any reaction, not evening bothering to look her way, though she wondered who it was she was talking about.

Cedric Ellington took the coin and pocketed it with a smile and another bow. Turning then to the veiled man that just entered, after listening to the soliloquy he arched a brow. "You will have to speak in common sir, I do not understand that tongue" he said with confusion, using his good hand to wipe at an imagined spot on the bar

Curos Vern slowly drums his fingers on the table as his gaze locks on the man behind the bar, his grey eyes flashing blue for a moment. There's a soft noise similar to a growl as he glares at the man, the blue turning back to grey "I said. . . That I would be pleased if you had one of your maids brings me an ale. . ."

Sinab caught the scent, hearing the voice. Her form turned about, a hand curled around the hilt at her hip as she looked to the shadow walker. "You.. What are you doing here?" She growled, her other hand resting on the neck of the bottle of whiskey. "Orc.. I'll give you that and a bag of diamonds.. I just need you to get the guards.. Away from the entrance of the Undercity.. Shizu has apparently placed them there.. So if you make a fuss in the market to attract them..I'll slip through..Deal?" Her voice had dropped to a whisper, only for Orc to hear though she kept her gaze locked upon Curos.

High Orc lowers his eyes at Sinab and finishes of his ale, his brow furrowing again. "Now ye see, ye dun goofed. When I go askin' fer a large sum o' gold fer such a task, yer supposed to be negotiatin' with me, not offerin' an extra bag o' diamonds. What the be suggestin' is that yer plannin' to stiff me. Not a wise Idea if ye wish to live a long an' healthy life."

Rynn Ravencross turned her head to look at the newcomer, not recognizing him. Though since she spent most of her time in the forest, it wasn't a surprise to her that she didn't, though out of the corner of her eye she saw Sinab's hand wrap around her sword at seeing him. The man's growl and tone made her raise a brow, and she shook her head. "Friendly one, isn't he?" she muttered to Cedric, loud enough for the man to hear.

Oswald McBeaty walks up to the bar smiling. "Hello there. I’ll take your best mead." He reaches into his pocket and drops a few gold coins on the table. "As much as this will get me."

Auryon Rivorn evaded the brisk cold by escaping into the slightly warmer atmosphere of the Last Stop, shaking the bit of slushy-snow from braided locks of red as she stepped over the threshold, green eyes, slightly distant, due to her recent illness, scanning the area for a few moments, before she'd pull off the 'borrowed' black-light weight coat from her shoulders, tossing it onto the back of a chair, and sitting down.

Curos Vern snarls audibly from beneath his scarf, his grey eyes lighting up with fire as the woman spits at him "Dos. . . Maelthra ligrr. . . Usstan ajak dos, dos rul'selozan usto. Dos veldri wun nindel mockery d'dyne, staining ol zhah|uriu karilth xuil dosst dazzan. Xor wruuty. . . Dos xal tangis'tlu natha filthy kitrye-kyuvr, tarnishing doeb tix vlos. Dos inbal nau ditronw ulu telanth ulu uns'aa, l'thi." He lowers the scarf around his face, revealing the right side as burned and marred with numerous scars, as if someone took the rough side of a hot knife to it in torture. He inhales through his nose and spits at Sin's feet, the green globule mucus hitting the floor

Cedric Ellington poured a glass of mead, again one handed and brought it to the stranger before turning to yet another newcomer, well well well, he was going to do well tonight indeed. He looked at the coins. "the best I got huh...well then we will see, that much coin'll buy plenty in these parts" he said with a broad grin. Moving off to the seldom used barrel he poured a cup of a dark liquid into the cup he had brought bringing it back to the man. "there ya are" he said scooping up the coins. His face turned to the two who obviously were not getting along. "I will have peace in my establishment" he said in a quiet voice. A serving wench walked up to Aury with a curtsy, asking if she would like anything

Auryon Rivorn studied the serving wench for a long moment, face somewhat flushed from a recent bout of what she was assuming was vile flu, "Start me off with a mug, and have a bottle of the rotgut close behind it, to wash the taste out." she'd flash a grin towards the server, the girl seeming somewhat uncertain if it would be appropriate to smile back at the red-head. "An' Whatever’s cheap, on the food menu."

Sinab grinned at Orcs words. "I'm not so foolish as to 'stiff' you as you call it. No.. I just have many pretty trinkets and I care not where they go, but with that added bonus I'd expect you to do the job and do it well..For if I get caught, you'd get nothing." She spoke as if that was final, her form coming to step forward towards Curos. "Siyo...Dos ph''bgualyiz, Usstan tlun kitrye vlos, lu'Usstan tlun vhaid d'ol. Nin ori'gato udossa sevir, Barra Z'hintekk, lu'sa'lak nindol tarthe dal l'byrren. " She spoke in a soft yet cold tone, the words rolling off her tongue as if it were her natural language. With this, she downed what was left of the bottle, tossing several gold coins on the bar. "Barkeep.. I'll be back later.. This should cover my drinks, the Orcs, and a room for tonight..Correct..?" The cold edge never left her tone, slipping the blade from its sheath.

Oswald McBeaty smiles and holds up his glass. "Cheers then." He looks around, and walks to a table to sit down.

Rynn Ravencross raised a brow, she recognized that language at least, though not all the words being said. There had been a drow or two in the Guild back in Palanthas, though they mostly stuck to themselves. She sighed heavily, setting her mug of mead down after taking one sip. Though not a guard, she was still part of the law enforcement, and if there was trouble she'd feel the necessity to stop it, at least in the tavern itself. She watched the woman and scarred man, her emerald eyes narrowed.

High Orc chuckles at Cedric from his seat beside Sinab and mutters something along the lines of "yer patrons'll be in peace or pieces afore the night is through." but makes no move for either the massive sword that leans against the wall beside him or the daggers at his belt. A keen observer however would note that the orc's eyes were rapidly scanning the tavern and looking over all potential threats, and a grin was slowly creeping across the green warrior's face.

Daven Knox nudges open the door of the last stop with his boot and strolls inside. He shoulders the sheathed long sword he carried, looking rather irritated with the large crowd. His free hand comes up to scratch the side of his head as he looks over the crowd, sizing each individual up. The young man’s gaze rested on Auryon for a moment and a bit of color flooded the otherwise pale cheeks. He begins towards the bar, not paying much heed to the fight that was about to break out..Almost as if he hoped to be caught in the fray.

Shizukesa pushed open the tavern door, the armor clad man clearly had business on his mind and groaned at the sight of Sinab, and the orc, of course they’d be there. "Sinab, put that sword away or you’re going in an even smaller cage, and orc, I do believe you have a bounty I need to collect.."

Curos Vern places the scarf back around his face and snarls again spinning to knock the mug from the table and onto the floor "You expect me to drink from a mug that has been touched by filth such as yourself! I asked for one of your human maids to bring it. Or do you save them for others of your disgusting race! And you!" He raises a bandaged hand and points towards the woman who stepped towards him "Usstan xun naut plynn orders dal e'trit. Dos ph'ugulur taga xa'huu ulu uns'aa, lu'orn tlu treated 'zil folt. Ka udos ph'ulu malar ol zhah p'wal Usstan inbal placed ussta scythe tu'fyr dosst vrune velven rena dos v'dri. Siyo. . . Nindel zhah lu'oh you'll el. Stabbed wun l'rath saph natha og'elend zhal'la tlu, lu'jal maglust"

High Orc raises a brow at Sinab and points at Shizukesa "Be that the one ye were referrin' to?"

Cedric Ellington almost groaned as Shizu entered. "Lieutenant. Please not in here, I have a broken arm, I don't need a broken inn as well." He scooped up Sinab's coin. There would be a room for her, the maid would bring Aury her order, smiling back shyly "here ya are ma'am" the same one would quickly move to where the ale was spilled, going to get him a new mug. Cedric eyed the man with a frown. you will pay for that drink" he said his smile not leaving. With a sigh he nodded to Daven the newest entry. "Can I get for you sir" he said with a small bow

Sinab glared at the male, ignoring Shizu's words. "Yes.. It’s his hide I'm trying to save.." She whispered, her form stepping forward towards Curos once more. "Usstan tlun nau og'elend ulu ussta lodias! Dos ph'natha wael ulu crup uns'aa whol ussta nossta lu'dos orn tyav ussta velve!" The glow around her became only barely noticeable, her gaze locked upon the male. It was clear from her features that something he had said hurt her, more than she would have normally shown.

Auryon Rivorn eyes caught the sight of the disgruntled young Daven and her grin grew wider. "C'mon and take a seat over here love, let’s see if we can't get you any more red." her eyes shifted a moment to the barmaid, giving a slight nod in thanks to receiving her drinks. She'd push the mug to the center of the table, she'd ordered it for someone else. The bottle, however, was clearly hers. "Unless you'd pretend like you can't see me."

Rynn Ravencross sighed, shaking her head. She didn't understand all that was being said, but knew the tone well enough. She walked towards him, her hand on the hilt of her short sword. "Sir, if you cannot keep your opinions to yourself, I must ask you to leave. Otherwise, I insist you keep your thoughts to yourself. Maybe your mother couldn't beat manners into you, but remember, If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

Shizukesa glowered at Cedric. "Rest assured ill repay your good deeds to the guard and pay for any damages but justice must be dished out...first things first.. SINAB." he took a stronger tone than usual as he approached the girl, standing his full intimidating height before her. He gestured to Curos. "this man is clearly not well, ill escort you out so I can attend to business."

Daven Knox would seem to take the woman’s advice as he approaches the bar, giving a slight nod to Cedric, "You got any work for a mercenary?", he asks the troubled man with a bit of a smirk. "I'll take an ale for now.", he fishes a silver from his pockets and tosses it to the bar keep

High Orc shrugs and looks to Sinab "Well his hide is about ta be skinned unless 'e learns to start thinkin' eith 'is head instead o' his badge. Methinks a dragonhide trenchcoat might make a good suit o' armor. Prolly more mobile then this 'ere plate too."

Auryon Rivorn was seated close enough to the bar that she was within earshot of Daven, she'd take a small swig from her bottle a feral smile crossing her lips as she listened, "You've gotten a bit better at avoiding distractions." she'd comment off-handedly at the boy, reaching for some of the finger food she was brought, "Who'd you borrow those coins from, anyway?" she'd raise a brow, eyes drifting towards the guard in the room, and then to Rynn.

Curos Vern looks at the woman who stepped in front of him, his grey eyes suddenly turning blue. At this range she would feel as if she were being scanned, but that didn't bother the man or stop him "You. . . You're. . . " His eyes go wide as they fade back to grey. He coughs and suddenly the sneer is back upon his lips "And who are you to order me around and defend that filth that stands behind you. . ." His voice was strained as he spoke, though it still sounds like two pieces of granite that grate together.

Cedric Ellington sighed and returned to his seat...he was not a fighting man in the best of conditions and his arm in a sling like it was would not help anyway. Barney brought Daven a mug of ale as he ordered. Cedric watched, sure that one of any five people could erupt into violence at any moment. he made a mental note to hire some ruffians to act as bouncers, maybe one good strong man would do, he didn’t have too much business as to afford many men, but one should do, for nights like this to ensure the tavern was kept in one peace

Sinab lunged forward then, growling. Oh she would have his head. "I'm NOT filth! You bastard! Shadow walker! I'll have your head!" She flung her hand out, the dagger leaving and spiraling hilt over blade towards him. The glow became more pronounced as she attempted to get past Shizu and tackle Curos to the ground.

Shizukesa glared morosely at the green one. "..and I would make myself an orc skin tunic but id likely die from the stench before I could get near it.." not missing a beat the dragon grabbed Sinab's upper arm as she would bolt past and he just kept going from there, pulling her towards the door. "either you leave or get arrested for disorderly conduct Sinab, do you really want that?"

Rynn Ravencross noticed the change of color in his eyes, but didn't mention it. "I am Lieutenant Rynn Ravencross-Arokh, of the Rangers." she wasn't able to say anymore before the dagger left the woman's hands, and she held her hand out, blasting it off course with a blast of air, the dagger digging into the wood a few feet from his head. "Shiz, you got her?" she asked, standing at the ready, her own eyes starting to turn gold from the use of her magic.

Trega Merekid walked through the street, his stride wide and purposeful. In his right hand he had a cigarette. In his left he tossed a dagger end over end. Flipped it up again and spun it between his fingers. As he strode along, he looked around, back and forth as if he were looking for the place to put the knife. He came across the Last Stop. "Hmm. Looks jumpin' tonight. I wonder . . ." He grinned wickedly as he opened the door and stepped inside, still juggling the dagger.

High Orc half debated standing near Sinab to offer her the protection of the void which surrounded him, but decided that since she hadn't actually hired him to protect him, and that nullifying any of her powers might jam up the fight for her, he simply remained where he was, leaning up against the wall, making sure to keep at least ten feet from any of the combatants. "ARG look like it'd be a fun brawl, but I dunno which side to be fightin' fer..." The orc mutters to himself. "Mayhap I'll see whichever side looks like it be needin' the most help in a few minutes."

Oswald McBeaty watches the new turn of events and smiles. "My my, isn’t this interesting." He stands and continues to observe, a faint glow beginning to form around his body

Curos Vern takes a step back so that his right foot is shaded in the shadows of the corner "Yes! Yes yes yes! I knew it! You're the disgusting filth that carries after his whim!" For once the man's eyes seemed to become a light with happiness, but there was something else, something unstable in the man's eyes "Ravencross. . . Ravencross! The name of that accursed demon! Hahaha! I'll kill him. . . I'll skin him alive and make him suffer! And then. . . Then I'll kill you! And you! And the rest of you will die slowly by my blade!" He points to each individual in the tavern "But first. . . I will kill Mika Ravencross!"

Trega Merekid shrugged. "Good enough." With that, he flung the dagger at Curos.

Oswald McBeaty cannot help but smile at hearing the man’s outburst. "Good luck pal, he is annoyingly hard to kill. Trust me"

Daven Knox picks up the mug and leans against the bar, taking a small sip. He watches the ongoing conflict with amusement, but most of his attention was focused on the guard and the woman he struggled to restrain. The young man lifts the sword in his other hand, lightly tapping the sheath against his shoulder in some obscure rhythm. His dark eyes dart over to Auryon as she spoke again but he quickly looked away, back to the man as he was threatened, "Crazy bastard..", he mutters to himself.

Rynn Ravencross raised a brow at his outburst, and couldn't help it. She began to laugh as he mentioned trying to kill her Sire. "Good luck with that." she smirked, shaking her head. "I am sure it’s been tried before, and he still stands." She saw the dagger fly from Trega's hand... but this one she didn't attempt to stop, and turned a blind eye to, returning to the bar and her drink.

Auryon Rivorn distracted from Daven, she now looked towards the scarred mad-man, her attention focused on him for a few moments as he raved about Mika, and then, about killing the rest of them for good measure.. "That Kind of talk'll get a .." She'd hear the whizzing of the dagger, more than see it, "..Exactly." she'd finish off, not bothering to look towards the doorway, instead she'd sidle up across from Daven, bottle in her left hand, right arm draping about his shoulder, "if Yer lookin' to make some coin, don't be ignoring the ones who might mean to give it."

Cedric Ellington also moved up to Daven, with a sigh. "There'll be coin to ya if you get that man out of here without causing any damage to me inn" he said with an unusually stern face. "Mayhaps if you do a good job we can talk about a more regular arrangement" he then took a step back standing near the back wall, he had a dagger just up his sleeve ready to throw in a blink if he needed it, he prayed he wouldn’t, killing costumers was no good

Shizukesa paused at the doorway. "I got her.. but it seems there’s..more to deal with.." he looked to Curos. "You sir, are demented but I still have a hunch that I could take you so settle down before I bite you in two and throw you to the crowd.."

Curos Vern continues to cackle madly, even after the dagger pierces his shoulder. It was as if the man couldn't feel pain. The shadows around his legs start to swirl up and around his body, the sound of leaves blowing in the wind coming from the corner of the room "All of you. . . All of you are guilty of disgracing the pure blood of us humans. . . And I will make sure you pay with your lives!" He grabs a sack at his side and tosses it to the ground, golden coins splashing across the ground. Each coin seemed more valuable than just a regular gold coin, and each had something scratched into it, like a pawnbrokers mark "Enjoy Hell. . ." The shadow's suddenly swallow the man, the sound of leaves and wind stronger than ever. All of a sudden it stops as he vanishes

Trega Merekid shrugged again. "Got him." he announced and walked past the bar. "Whiskey, barkeep." His tone was almost jovial. He picked up the dagger and started flipping it around again. "Okay . . . next . . ."

Oswald McBeaty frowns. “Well that was rather anticlimactic.”

Daven Knox tries to wedge the end of the sheath between his shoulder and Auryon's arm to pry it off of him as he moved away, looking both annoyed and flustered. "Yeah, yeah..I'll get back to you, lady.", he sets his mug down onto the bar and strode over towards the center of the conflict. The display of magic didn't deter him in the slightest as he pulled the sword he carried freely from the sheath. If he could manage to fight against the wind he would slash out at the spot the man was-or had been.

A massive roar could be heard in the distance near the mountains of Eldarus. First came the sound, and then suddenly the vibrations that would shatter the windows. Outside there are screams of terror as shop after shop has their windows shattered, the sound waves making quick work of the windows. The roar continues on for another minute before falling silent. There's panic and shouting in the streets as shop owners yell at no one in particular, women crying from the terror, and guards restoring order.

High Orc releases a relaxed yawn from the wall he was leaning against and takes a drink of his ale. "Well that were such a shame, an' 'ere I were about to spring into action." Bloodmonath chuckles and watches Daven slices at the air and is about to speak before catching the sounds of glass shattering and the unnatural noise that reduced them to splinters. "ARG, alright, who cut the cheese"

Oswald McBeaty throws a few more coins on the bar. "Make it two, on me. Trega how have you..." his words are cut off by the roar from outside.

Rynn Ravencross growled at the roar, her ears ringing. "Well... so much for a quiet night," she sighed, downing the rest of her mead in a few gulps and heading out the door to help the citzens calm down.

Daven Knox looked particularly annoyed as Curos had seemed to vanish along with the last of the magic, "Damn mages..", he spits off to the side as he slides the blade back into the sheath. He would return to the bar, Auryon and his drink as if nothing had happened. The young man cocks his head towards the windows as they shattered..Maybe a dragon?

Cedric Ellington groaned aloud this time as the windows shatter. "fantastic" he muttered, though he did move to fetch the man with a dagger, fetching two bottles of whiskey and bringing them back. "I’d ask you nicely to put that thing away." he said a smile on his face. "There's enough hostility this evening if you please"

Shizukesa sighed softly, it had been anticlimactic, but then that did settle Sinab's rage which was a godsend, but then he spied Daven and nearly jumped out of his own hide at the shattering glass "Oh by Draco you all came out of the woodwork tonight.." he sighed and tossed what else, but a sapphire to Cedric. "Here; in case that was from one of my own kin.. I’m heading out"

Auryon Rivorn had allowed Daven to separate her from him, "A good little sheep.." she'd sigh for a moment, watching as he headed towards the head of the conflict, her eyes shifting a moment as the coins slammed against the ground, several rolling towards her. She'd bring her foot down on the two coins, causing them to fall flat, before picking them up, pocketing one, and examining the other, as she did this, she'd make her way back around the bar in a casual, almost innocent manner, as if she simply was lost in examining her new treasure. While back there, she'd pass by Cedric who was fetching Trega and Oswald there drinks. She'd make fast, and petty work out of emptying his main cash-hold, slipping back to her spot next to the now returned Daven, just as the roar broke out, almost causing her to drop her now fattened coinpurse, and bottle. "Fantastic city, this is."

Trega Merekid stopped flipping the knife and dropped his hands to the sides like a frustrated child. "Really?! This shit's gonna pop off tonight?!" He tipped his head to the side, eliciting a sharp crack, then walked for the door. He glanced at Oswald on his way. "Fucking Mika."

High Orc sighs and rises to his feet, making his way to the door. "ARg looks like as usual, the action ain't where the ale be at, an' I ain't to be paid fer it.... aw well, fightin' be its own reward." And with that and a broad grin, the orc strode out into the night, returning his sword to his back on the way

Oswald McBeaty grabs the bottles. "Looks like its gonna be one of those nights. Damnit Mika" He turns and heads out after Trega

Daven Knox scowls at the woman, "Anything for a chance to fight..", he mutters, echoing the sentiments from the orc. He quickly downs the ale and slides the mug down the bar. With that done hefts the long sword back up onto his shoulder and starts for the door, "Let me know if you got anything else for me to do.", he calls out to Cedric before shoving open the door and following the crowd..

Meanwhile, a peaceful evening in the marketplace was about to erupt into panic . . .

Market Square:

Market Square

Tursac Fescarn nodded as they stepped out into the street once more "hmmm..." he wasn't exactly sure what to get Aku and just decided he might wander til something popped out at him

Frideswide Seys sighed softly. "It is getting late Tursey, maybe something simple would suffice, Akusai likes flowers and things, maybe there’s an elvish vendor."

Tursac Fescarn nodded at the idea and walks on hoping that they might find a flower shop that had something worthwhile for Aku. HE would search until he finally did find one that had flowers that were preserved rather nicely with a slowing spell of some kind. Though there were no sakura's available at the time he purchased a few lilies and chrysanthemums of varying colors and then looks to Fride holding up the boquette "What do you think?"

Kayle Haven walked down the street from his long day of slumber. Being the merchant he was demanded a schedule that contrasted most others'. Donning in his long white priest-like robes, the hems embroidered with gold, silver, and blue filigree along the front and sleeves. Giving a soft adjustment to the two wings folded at his back, the white of the feathers as pearled as the snow strewn across the city. He ran a hand through his long lazy mohawk of white hair, which stubbornly fell right back the hanging at the left of his face. The green-skinned celestial approached his bronze-wood cart and pulled out a key to unclasp a large rune-covered pad-lock off the back double doors. Swinging them open to reveal his many rumor-causing goods. The inside of the doors with built in shelves. One side littered with a rainbow of powders, tablets, liquids in salves all in a multitude of glass containers. The other side's shelving held an array of missile shaped toys with different colors, textures and materials, along with an assortment of rings much too large for a finger. Inside on display were a set of boxes, each labeled with their names and what their purpose was, along with a few random leather-crafted garbs, manacles, chains and whips and all manner of bedroom trinkets. Pulling out a chair to sit to the side of his cart, Kayle have a quick stretch and sat down to begin his day.

Frideswide Seys smiled broadly and nodded. "Those are quite pretty Tursey, I think akusai will be happy with them, he loves his flowers after all." the young alchemist replied. The woman jumped at the roar and hugged Tursac. "What was that??'

Tursac Fescarn suddenly dropped down to the ground as the ground shook with the roar, covering his ears as he screamed into the sound of busting glass. Once the roar ended he looked up and around at the chaos that ensued before turning to the woman that was hugging him tight "I... I don't know miss Frideswide." he would look down at the flowers and gather then up quickly before they were trampled... but I wonder if we should get the safety"

Kayle Haven yelped as the roar and shakes came rushing over the city. His arms flailing as his chair fell backwards and the back of his head slammed against one of his open doors on his fall to the ground. Granted being knocked over was never a treat, for a winged creature, there was a lot of danger in even the slightest fall to ones back. Forcefully willing his wings open to the side to take as little damage as possible, and instead having the wind knocked out of him for a moment. As the chaos passed, Kayle stood and adjusted himself, looking out to the distance as his wings shook themselves to comfort and he rubbed the back of his head. "What of the Abyss was that?"

Frideswide Seys nodded swiftly. "Let's get out of here tursac!"

Rynn Ravencross entered the market, shaking her head at the panic the massive roar had set in. At least she had the feeling Mika would know about the mad man in town by now, without her having to tell him. This was a pretty big tip off after all. She pushed her way through the crowd, attempting to calm down the people, mostly store owners who were ranting at the broken glass, especially one man, who ran a shop filled with blown glass vases and other such items.

Raphael Delemater strolled through the market, quietly pondering to himself what that roar had been about, he had no idea but the young vampire knew already that in this town you got very blunt, obvious answers...

There is the sound of rustling leaves and wind coming from one of the alley ways. Out of the shadows steps a man with silver hair and pale skin, his grey eyes sharp and always on the move. He wore a suit of black leather armor, and upon his back was a large scythe. His face held handsome features, save for what looked like a small burn mark on his right cheek. He goes through the city and offers help where he can, his voice soothing and soft

Tursac Fescarn hurried with Frideswide back toward the theatre. At least there they were safe... or so he hoped.

The streets become a mass of panic and frustration as men and women alike pour through the market square "Look there! It's one of the rangers! They'll know what's going on!" Shop owners and concerned citizens swarm around Rynn, demanding answers "What was that?" said one woman "Who's going to pay for my merchandise?!" Screamed a rather fat shop owner

Kayle Haven took the time to shut up his cart again, having only lost a couple of his aphrodisiacs to the ground. He picked up the lock to the cart and paused as he looked inside...staring at the floor of the cart for a moment....in some internal debate. Finally he flung a floorboard up and pulled out a long silver and gold trumpet that he flung between his wings on his back. Shutting and locking his cart, keeping himself out of the guards’ way and not adding to their confusion in the chaos. He turned to watch and spotted a familiar face. "Why is it every time I am caught up in madness...it's always YOUR madness?" He shouted at Rynn through the crowds....Kayle looked slightly different with that trumpet on his back, he rarely carried it anymore.

Trega Merekid caught up quickly to Rynn. He met her stride at one point and threw his arm over her shoulder. "So . . . ya want some help?"

High Orc strides out into the market square, the now eerie chill breezes billowing out his oversized trench coat behind him. The orc's keen eyes gazed about the panicked crowd. He smelled what he was looking for but in the crowd he could not zero in on a target. He wasn't worried so much about magical attacks, but the void wouldn't stop a serruptitious dagger in a painful spot, and so the orc was extremely careful as he strode to the middle of the square and proceeded to bellow out. "ARG What be the problem 'ere, an' can it be fixed by slayin' somethin!?!?!" The orc bellows out to no one in particular in a rough but booming voice, only half expecting a response.

Rynn Ravencross made her way to Kayle's Wagon after she had finally settled the glass shop owner down the best she could, though he was still raging at the loss of his wares. "Calm down everyone!" she shouted, her voice lost in the crowd. She rolled her eyes at Kayle, holding up a hand to tell him she'd be there in a moment, and turned at the other voice at her side. "Some help would be nice," she said dryly, as he had been there as well. "Think you can get them to shut up for a second?"

Oswald McBeaty walks into the square, looking around for whatever made that roaring noise.

A decent portion of the crowd surges towards the orc as he offers his help, requests flying at him like birds to a seed drop "Please you have to help! My wife and child are trapped inside of the shop we were in when the windows exploded! The support must have cracked and the shop caved in!" Another man comes up beside him and shoves the weak looking man to the side "Shut up and wait your turn! Hey orc! I'll pay you a nice price to guard my shop as I go and get me tools!"

Auryon Rivorn not long after Trega joined Rynn's side, she was coming up after him, her face looking slightly more flushed than usual, though her green eyes seemed to be lit up with a energetic fire. She'd been cooped up too long, and now... "Yer askin' a guy who can't shut himself up, to shut up a crowd?" she'd shrug a bit, smirking, before looking around to get a better barring. She jingled as she moved, stuffed with fresh coins, and the larger, stranger coins that Curos had dropped.

Trega Merekid looks around, trying to think of a way to quiet the crowd. A pistol shot just wouldn't cut it in this situation. He looked over at Aury as she joined them. "Hey, Aury. Whip out your boobs real quick."

Oswald McBeaty walks up and frowns. "I don't see Mika anywhere, what has he done this time." His head turns as Trega speaks, and he looks towards Auryon.

Curos Vern moves smoothly through the crowd, knowing he would not be recognized now that he had disguised himself as a local mercenary. He made his way into the shop that had collapsed, pushing rubble to the side "Is anyone alive in here?!"

Trega Merekid “Oz, you think you can do something to quiet this crowd?"

Azendal Verisi comes charging through the streets of the town, his body lit on fire to make sure anyone in his way got out of it "Rynn?! Rynn where are you?! We've got a biiiiig problem!!!!" The teen raced through the crowd, desperately trying to find Rynn

High Orc looks to the two civilians that had approached him, surprised that anyone would come to him in search of help and ponders a moment the two requests before speaking. "ARG man, ye watch yer shop fer a few, an I'll be diggin' the civilians out o' the rubble. When that be done if ye still need a guard I'm with ye, but methinks this be the more pressing matter at the moment." And with that the orc strides off to the caved in shop and speaks to Curos. "ARG, I can be liftin' the rubble off if ye want to go in an' dig fer whomever be inside there."

Oswald McBeaty looks back at Trega "Unless you want them all dead or absolutely terrified, not sure how much help I would be."

Auryon Rivorn watches as the crowd seemed to swarm the Orc that not but a few moments ago they'd of loved to behead, screaming for help. "They may leave you in awe, but this crowds too big for my breasts to handle." she'd wink towards Oswald, whom was now staring at her, "What’s this got to do with Mika?” She'd sound more serious now, as the shouts for help grew louder.

Rynn Ravencross sighed; she just wished she had stayed in the forest tonight. She found a crate and shoved it into the street, standing on top of it, and shouted as loudly as she could; using a trick a general had taught her to propel her voice above the din. "OI! WILL EVERYBODY SHUT UP A MINUTE SO I CAN HEAR MYSELF THINK!?!?" She shouted, and groaned as she saw Az darting towards her.

Raphael Delemater had of course, taken advantage of the chaos, having drained a couple of locals trapped in their shops and beyond help. They weren’t exactly 'willing' but they would do, he emerged from one such shop, licking his lips, and watched the shouting woman...

Sinab had decided to take off from Shizu, being left outside the guard house. She made her way to the market Square, stopping at the edge as she saw the crowd. Well...If she was going to make her way to the Undercity, now would be the time. She stuck to the shadows, her gaze flicking to Rynn as she heard the woman yelling. Great... Yeah let That one calm the chaos down.

Trega Merekid shouted up to Rynn in a poorly disguised voice. "Show us your TITS!" he shouted as he ducked behind someone.

Curos Vern looks up towards the orc and there is a moment where there is a hint of murder in his eyes but he suddenly smiles "Yes. . . Yes that would be helpful." His voice was soft, nothing like what it had sounded like earlier. He appeared and sounded like a completely different person

A few of the citizens silence themselves at the woman's words, but not enough to quiet down the market place. Suddenly fights start to break out in the streets "Hey! You stole that from me!" "No I didn't it's mine!" Suddenly there are dozens of scraps occurring in the streets

High Orc lowers his eyes for a moment, his keen nose catching a familiar smell, but in the chaos about he couldn't pinpoint it's source and he simply shrugs it off for now, focusing his attention on one of the crumbled support beams resting in front of him. With a grunt and a heave, the orc wrests up one end of the beam, lifting several hundred pounds of debris and opening a small entrance into the collapsed rubble. "ARG Be checkin' in there fer anyone that be alive, I can't be holdin' this all day, so mak'er quick!" Bloodmonath grunts the last bit out with only minor, but audible strain in his voice

Kayle Haven didn’t really get involved right away, keeping his quiet and letting the people give their own efforts, but if it was one thing Kayle was good at, it was pitching an idea. He turned and climbed up to the roof of his cart to stand over the chaos of the masses, watching on as the stumbling and blur of sound filled the streets. He couldn't help but find himself thinking, 'I wish my business was this busy', but pushed the internal humor away. Taking a deep breath he shouted, his celestial voice booming like thunder over the crowds. "GOOD PEOPLE!!!" He paused, knowing that the sound would attract attention in the wake of what sound their just heard. "If there is something happening, you're all on the right path to be caught in the middle of it. The guards and good citizens are doing their best to help in any way they can. But right now, I urge you all to quietly and calmly return to your homes and take shelter..." Kayle was not great speaker, and no great anything for that matter, but a salesman

Azendal Verisi tears his way through the crowd, finally reaching Rynn "Rynn! Dragon! Big big dragon!"

Auryon Rivorn looked around the mess of the market place, skittering away from Trega and group for only a few moments before she returned with what she had been looking for, "Got that... Light-er-majig?" she'd be holding the remains of what appeared to be a crude firework, from one of the cart-dealers. There were several scattered on the ground, nearly all trampled by the various fights, "OI!" she'd be shouting at Rynn now, her eyes locked on the woman as she held up the crudely made explosive, that impy grin on her face again.

Kayle Haven he was, and a celestial...his voice seemed almost suggestive on some low level feeling. Urging and coaxing. This wasn't so much magic as just being what he was, even if he wasn't a very good Angel at all...

Rynn Ravencross glared at Trega, and shook her head. This was too much for her to handle on her own. "EVERYBODY, RETURN TO YOUR HOMES AND YOUR SHOPS. THE GUARD WILL ARRANGE HELP FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT, AND IF YOU HAVE ANY DAMAGE, PETETION THE REGENT FOR REPERATIONS IN THE MORNING." She shouted, stepping down as Az approached and swore. "the blue?" she asked with a sigh, seeing Kayle was trying to calm them down as well, sending him a thankful glance before returning her gaze back to the teen and placing her hands on his shoulders. "What happened, Az?" she asked him urgently.

Shizukesa had of course left Sinab to address the matters of the market, ignoring her for now as he observed the wanton chaos in the streets. He had shifted to his true form, but with a purpose as he used the strength of this form to weave through the crowd, which effectively dispersed several people by the simple size of him and he worked on helping people through the shattered glass of their shops, his scales protecting him well, acting like a living crowd control barricade all the while.

Maxwell Evans had been watching the market for some time from inside of his shop, wondering what exactly was going on outside. His shop had been relatively unscathed, due mostly to the barrier placed upon it.

From within the rubble where Orc and Curos searched there was the noise of a child crying quietly. Meanwhile, the chaos around the center of town diminishes a little bit, but there are still numerous fights

Oswald McBeaty sighs watching all of the new fights breaking out. He raises his hand, a bright pure light beginning to shine from his eyes. He turns towards the fountain in the center of the square. His hand begins to glow as bright as his hand, and he focuses all his attention on the fountain.

Trega Merekid laughs good and hard and tosses his lighter to Aury. "Do it!"

Oswald McBeaty ((glow as bright as his eyes*))

Azendal Verisi leans over, his hands on his knees as he pants heavily "No. . . Blue. . . Is gone. . . But there's. . . A great Wyrme. . . Headed towards the village! A red one!"

Curos Vern calls back towards the orc as he pushes himself inside "There's a little girl in here! Go and get some rope and something to support the rest of the building! Quickly!"

Sinab darted forward then, going through the middle of the chaos. She spotted Shizu, then Rynn.. And Finally Trega.. Ah.. well.. Time to cause hell, yeah? She ran towards the Pirate, grinning. "Captain! Captain!" She called out, her hand curled around the hilt at her hip.

Ranger Foxcrown having been on a patrol of the walls when word about the situation in the Square met him he approached the scene on horseback, his light blue hair on end and the crackling about him incessant. Fifteen guards, all that he could spare save for their duties at posts marched behind him, no swords drawn but they had staves and shields, meaning to put down any rioting not injure. "CITIZENS OF ELDARUS" he yelled in a booming voice."RETURN TO YOUR HOMES, LET US DEAL WITH THIS" he stood in the stirrups too above the throng

Shizukesa cringed as he overheard Azendal. "a Wyrme, are you kidding me?" he exclaimed, where's it coming from?" he knew he was a juvenile dragon but he’d gladly leave the market to go face down a wyrme any day..

Rynn Ravencross swore under her breath. "What else can go wrong tonight?" she muttered, shaking her head. What in the world could she do against a dragon? She had seen Mika take care of the blue, but she was barely trained in her magic. "Come, we need to get assistance." she said, hearing Ranger's voice, and grabbed Az's hand, tugging him to the Captain. "Ranger, we got bigger issues than this mob!" she shouted for him to hear her.

Oswald McBeaty begins to chant in a strange language, and the fountain begins to glow. There is a sudden flash of light, and then all of the lights fade. The fountain now appears to be spewing out beer instead of water, bubbling and foaming.

Auryon Rivorn seemed despite the chaos to be enjoying herself, "This'll shut 'em up for a second or two.." she'd catch the lighter, her fingers working the mechanism to struck the small flame, she'd hold the explosive away from her face, head turned slightly as she lit the fuse, "Ready?" she'd grin towards Trega, a queer little gleam in her eyes, tossing it as directly as she could into the most 'center' of the massive crowd, which also, unfortunately for Captain Foxcrown, would be only four or five feet from here now rode in horseback from. It took only a moment for the Explosive to go off - A small fizzing sound, then a sudden, deafening BANG!, followed by white smoke, that canvassed the general area, hopefully causing wide-spread - SILENT- panic, for a moment or two.

At the sound of the captains voice the citizens around Rynn suddenly swivel their heads "It's the captain! He'll know what to do!" The massive crowd surges forward and surrounds the captain and his fifteen guards, their hands and voices weighing down on the air "Captain! Terrible omens! Help us please!" Some of the crowd turns towards the fountain and cries out, running for it, but there were still too many rioting in the streets and surrounding the guard. At the sound of the bang people scream even louder

Azendal Verisi tears off after Rynn, coming up behind her "Captain Foxcrown! Captain Foxcrown! You have to evacuate the city! Get everyone out of the market place! Out of the city!"

Ranger Foxcrown cracked his whip in the air well above where it could conceivably hit anyone. "IF YOU WANT MY HELP, RETURN TO YOUR HOMES, I ASSURE YOU IT WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF" he said, motioning o Rynn to approach as he tried to back away from the mob so they could speak without panicking the people

Rynn Ravencross felt her ears ringing from Aury's 'help', and tugged Az down into an alley so Ranger could follow. "There is a massive Red Dragon coming this way," she said urgently. "Az here knows more than I."

Curos Vern curses the orc as he doesn't move, making his way deeper into the rubble "Little girl! Call to me if you can hear me!"

Kardagar Alma was leading the group of guards behind Ranger and began to move forward, attempting to force the crowd backwards with his fellow guards. "Get out of the open and to safety, ALL OF YOU!", he yells out, only to be cut off by the firework. The elf was donned in a full set of mithril plate armor, and carried with him a halberd of the same material.

Shizukesa growled in frustration, he decided he’d take care of this whyrme..if it was at all possible...and thus he would head towards it, though he was terrified he was still the biggest creature there and would be their best bet for driving it off.

Ranger Foxcrown shook his head, luckily he wasn't looking at the explosion but his ears rang and he could hardly hear what was said. "What...I couldn't hear" he said coming up behind them. "Calm down, last thing we need is people more panicked, what is going on"

High Orc grumbles to himself having lost focus for a moment, it's almost as if events were -scrolling- past to quickly for him to get a -read- and respond to them. "Arg must be gettin' old" he mutters to himself.

Oswald McBeaty turns to Trega "I don’t think that worked as well as I had hoped it would. But it does look nice at least. I have a gift from an old friend for you, now seems like the ideal time to have it." He reaches into a pouch, his arm going impossibly deep into it, and from it he pulls a very finely crafted rapier. "This is for you."

Sinab cringed at the sound of the whip, her form ducking down some though she continued forward. Oh where the hell was Shizu?! She glanced around, searching for him as a glow began to radiate from her. She made her way past Trega then, moving towards the Fountain. For once, she wanted to help. Shouting so all around her could hear, she moved to stand on the edge of the fountain of what now seemed to be, Beer. "Listen to the Captain! Return to your homes or get out of the Market! Now!" She growled, the glow only becoming brighter as she saw Shizu flying off.

The crowd suddenly erupts in screams at the boys words "Dragon! There's a dragon coming to the city! We're all going to die!" The mob suddenly starts to charge out of the market place, tramping over anyone who fell down. Women and children screamed as men twice their size step over them, the streets running red with blood. The cracking of bones joins the sound of screams as the stampede of frightened citizens ran

High Orc bellows at the crowd and in somewhat strained, but still booming voice. "ARG SHUT UP THE LOT O' YE NINNIES!" Bloodmonath pauses a moment to regain his breath, not being able to bellow for sustained periods while holding a massive beam over his head. "THERE BE A HALF DOZEN DRAGONS ABOUT ON ANY GIVEN DAY, SO SHUT YER DAMN HOLES, IF ONE SHOWS UP CAUSIN' TROUBLE, I'LL CUT OFF IT'S FOOT AN' CHOKE IT TO DEATH WITH IT!" mutters to himself after catching his breath. "Town o wangering cowards, the lot o' them"

Trega Merekid walked over and wrapped his fingers around the grip. He smirked suddenly and looked at Oswald a mix of impressed surprise and deep gratitude. "Oh, we're going to have some fun tonight." He turned to Aury. "Red! Get over here!"

Azendal Verisi snarls and points towards the mountains "Don't you get it you blue idiot! A Great Wyrm Red Dragon is coming to eldarus! In its natural form! The only time they do that is to kill! I was going through the silver forest when I heard the roar. I know that roar! I lived with one for christ sakes! We need to evacuate all civilians and keep back anyone who wishes to fight!"

Shizukesa would make his way to the outskirts of the market and beyond, moving swiftly as he tried locating the red dragon they had been speaking of. "alright, come on, show yourself..damned uncultured dragons giving the rest of us a bad name.."

The sound of the crying child grows louder as the girl hears curos's voice "Please. . . Please help me. . . The shop collapsed and my mother. . . my mother. . . "The girl starts to cry hysterically. Outside people only move faster at the orc's bellows "Do you hear that?! They've been planning this! They've been walking among us to kill us more easily!" The crowd starts to disperse as more and more people flock farther away, though the crowd tears through the rest of the market place first.

Kayle Haven stood upon his cart seeing the efforts were to no avail. A loud bang forced his arm to lift and protect his eyes for a moment. As it only added to the disruption, he did his best to let the ring pass from his ears. Hearing dragon shouted so many times Kayle realized that there are some things you just can't fix. But there was one that passed his thought in such light. Suddenly the green-skinned celestial took flight to catch up. Landing beside Shizukesa in a soft thud of his feet. Still this silly grin loomed on his lips. "So you have this handled right?" He said with the sight of chaos going on behind them both....His jest wasn't in good timing, but no war-jokes were ever of good taste or timing.

Rynn Ravencross took a deep breath, turning to Az. "Alright. What direction is it coming from, maybe we can head it off." she said urgently. She had fought dragons in her youth... but always with a massive army, equipped with dragonlances specially designed to kill dragons. "Take me there Az. Ranger, deal with the town." she ordered, motioning for Az to lead the way.

Trega Merekid pulled his usual rapier from his scabbard. "Well, you've been trying to get your hands on it for years. Take it now." He held the weapon out to her as he sheathed the one Oswald had brought him. "Widespread panic and disorder? Yeah, that's his thing."2011-01-15 00:16:35 Curos Vern moves within sight of the crying child and her mother, holding out his hand "It's okay. . . It's alright now just take my hand

Maxwell Evans cocked a brow from where he was leaning against the inside of the display windows, hearing the panicked shouts of the crowd. "Dragons..", he shakes his head and moves for the door, stepping outside and locking the door behind him. A brief shimmer across the door was the only sign of a barrier being put into place. He pockets the bronze key and begins to move through the market, carrying the metal staff. He stopped here and there to aid the guards with the wounded, using small shocks to temporarily numb their pain where it was needed..

Auryon Rivorn quirks a brow at the offering, though the situation left little time for any real sentiments, if there were any to be had, "Why can I have that one" she'd ask sarcastically, as the rapier transferred hands, she'd fiddle a moment, before sliding it into what had been once occupied by a odd-colored scimitar, that had in recent times either been lost, or retired. "Guy has problems."

High Orc rests the beam on his shoulder, shifting the weight from his arms to his whole body so he could give them a rest. the ruined shop would shudder slightly but he hadn't moved it enough to let anything drop. "ARG Be makin'er quick in there, I can hold this a fair bit yet, but there be a red dragon on the way, so I 'eard. Methinks I might be needin' some strength to fight it." The orc's visible muscles were straining, though hardly a bead of sweat had yet started dripping from his brow, it was obvious the load of the beam and rubble was heavy even for the green warrior.

Azendal Verisi curses at the Captain of the guard as he disappears "Ya bloody coward! Come back here and do your job!!!" He spits a glob of fire after the captain and turns to Rynn "It'll take time. . . We can't just go and fight it! This thing has had the cunning to survive for over a thousand years!! Do you realize how powerful it is?! We can't just ride up to it and say 'oh excuse me Mr. dragon could you LIE DOWN AND DIE?!?!!?'" The boy was obviously terrified

Sinab gives a low growl, her form glowing as bright as the sun for but a moment before curled around the Fountain, as the light settles, rests a young Silver dragon. She let out a roar, her form tensing for the moment. She couldn't help but be excited at such panic, and yet all she wanted was to find Shizu, and keep Alistar away from him. "Stoooopppppp!!!!!" She growled, her tail snaking out at any that were near her.

Shizukesa looked upon the celestial. "I’m twenty five, so not exactly. If this dragon is full grown I’m all but a flesh shield but this is still our best bet for keeping it from the town.. if you wish to help, come." leaving the rest of the guard to strategize he would follow the source of the roar, if anything he’d delay this thing.

Rynn Ravencross glared at Az. "What do you expect me to do, just let this happen? I won't let another city be destroyed. There has to be a reason is it coming here, of all places. If I can find out what that reason is, maybe I can divert it." she said, running off, pushing through the mob, spotting Shizu and Kayle and speeding towards them.

There was a beam that went straight through the little girl's mother's chest, her arms wrapped protectively around the girl as if she had shielded her in her final moments. Those that remained screamed at the sight of the dragon that appeared on the fountain "It's the dragon! Kill it!" Suddenly scraps of rubble, rocks, and even some weapons are thrown at the Silver Dragon in the middle of the square. One even went as far as to throw a torch into the fountain, setting it on fire from all the alcohol

Curos Vern bites his lip as he sees the mother's form and grabs the little girl, quickly moving out of the shop as it collapsed behind him "Orc! Drop it now!" he tumbles out of the shop just as it collapses, landing on his back, the girl cradled in his arms

Trega Merekid shook his head with a chuckle. "Alright, this crowd is a mess beneath our collective talents. Let's bounce back to the Wench and get 'er airborne. We can work on this better from the sky." He turned and started head back through the city toward the harbour.

Azendal Verisi grabs Rynn's arms and gazes into her eyes, his own filled with Terror "We need to run. . . He's after something of his that was stolen. . . And he won't stop until everyone is dead so that his revenge is complete. . . Look around you! He's not even here yet and people are dead!" It was true after all. The mob scene had been so chaotic, many people lay in the streets broken and bleeding, some children even trampled to death

Kayle Haven paused as he watched Shizu start off on his goal at hand. Looking back at the city's chaos, his silver eyes seemed to loom for a moment at something as he reached back and pulled the trumpet from his back and looked at it for a moment. "Ironic isn't it...." He seemed to try and jest some internal thought away to himself as the metal on the trumpet seemed to shift and mold with a bright gleam as it melded into a sword, the weapon as beautiful as anything was from the Silver Mount. The base of the pristine blade was hollowed and suspended in the opening spun a simple blue gem. And with the passing thought, he started off to catch up to the Lt.

Rynn Ravencross was stopped as Az grabbed her arms. "Az..." she said quietly. "Did YOU steal what it is he is after?" how else would he know what the dragon was after. She gripped his arms, her fingers digging in. "Tell me the truth Az!"

Shizukesa was certain no dragon could be that tough and if their collective forces banded together, besides some guards had work early the next day and hoped matters would be resolved SOON and would thus hurry onwards.

The market place was now a scene of gore and death, rather than chaos and screams. Many lay broken in the streets, blood mixing with the grime of the street. Aside from the screams in the distant as people gathered their things to flee, the market place was silent all save for the eleven that remained

Kardagar Alma shakes his head in disbelief as the Captain left along with Rynn, leaving him to deal with the chaos that was happening in the city. Several unpleasant elvish words left his lips before he turned to the crowd attacking the woman that had turned out to be a dragon. There wasn't enough men to deal with this. "This one has done nothing, you will leave her be unless you wish to be sent to fight the real threat!", he bellows angrily. He was bluffing of course, as he had no real power to do such a thing.

Curos Vern hands the little girl towards the orc "Here, take care of her. . . And then rejoin the others to fight!" He runs off after the mob, screaming "A dragon attack! Too Arms Too Arms!"

High Orc throws the beam off to one side and jumps backwards to avoid being crushed in the collapse of the debris, then calmly dusts himself off, before looking at the girl, unsure of what to do, seeing the guards remaining in the square he grabs her by the hand and brings her in their direction. "ARG, I be comin' in peace, someone needs to be helpin' the kid 'ere, I ain't got the slightest idea o' what to do with'er"

Azendal Verisi starts to tug on Rynn, trying to pull her away "Do you think I'm an idiot?! It was the shadow walker! I remember fighting with him in the forests as he came here! He spoke of how he was going to kill us all! This is what he meant, Rynn! He brought the dragon’s wrath upon us!"

Sinab took to the skies, following Shizu from the air to avoid being further assaulted. The fire having made her more than a little uncomfortable. Were it not for her hide, she'd be in more than a little pain, as it was her wings had gotten a bit singed. They'd have to handle this themselves, her form making the attempt to get to the nearest roof and move along them to get to the harbour.

The few men that still fought with the Silver Dragon ran off at the scream from Kardagar, leaving the market place completely barren. The fountain still roared with flames, burning through the alcohol rather slowly. The child in orc's arms begins to cry loudly "Mommy! Where's mommy! Have you seen mommy!" Tears and snot rolled down her face and onto the orc's gauntlets

Rynn Ravencross narrowed her eyes. "How do you know that? You weren't even in the tavern," she pointed out, shaking him off her and turning to look around. "I am not leaving Az, and that is that. If I can prevent this, I will, but I will not run away." She heading off towards the forge to find a suitable ranged weapon. If anyone had something that could pierce dragonhide, it would be Mika. She burst into the shop, moving to the spears and lances along the wall, pulling them down, testing the weight.

Kardagar Alma grabs the nearest guard, emerald eyes widened with unbridled anger, "You! Go to the Ivory Hall and inform the Regent about this. We need to muster every defense this city has.", with that he shoves the startled man away who left to deliver the message. The elf then turned to the orc, who was wanted, "Take her to the temple circle with the other wounded.", he directs another guard who moved to take the girl, "We are short on men right now, orc..Will you aid the city in its time of need?", the stern gaze of the elf watches him carefully.

Rynn Ravencross had no idea what kind of magic any of them possessed, but she was looking for the sturdiest among them, and found it in a ten foot lance, heading back out into the street, towards where the cry had come from.

High Orc looks at the child, not worried so much about the tears and snot, as the gauntlets had been covered in so much blood and other unsavory things over the years that it was of little consequence. That and orc was well, an orc. He would quickly pass the girl off to the girl and turn to Kardargar alma, speaking with a broad grin across his green and weathered face. "ARG, don't count on me to be helpin' yer city lad, but ye can count on me to kill yer monster, wouldn't be much fun otherwise."

Shizukesa wasn’t sure what he could do to deal with a red dragon but he knew he’d be its first target as the biggest obstacle and kept on heading to where he sensed its massive aura and heard its cries from..

Azendal Verisi growls but nods as he follows Rynn "Fine. . . But we'll need an army. This thing is massive, powerful, and wise. . . Even my magic which comes from them is useless against it. We have to be careful. . . Gather the strongest. We'll strike when we're able to. The Dragon will come here and start tearing through the city. If we're lucky it'll take on a human form."

Kardagar Alma nods, appeased by the response, "Do what you can to stop the beast. I will gather the forces of the guard to protect the city should it reach it.", with that the elf ran off towards the guard house, needing to plan out the defense of the city..

Rynn Ravencross spotted Kayle, making her way over to him, giving him a tight lipped smile. "Thanks for sticking around at least," she said, shaking her head. "You may want to leave while you can though." she gripped the lance, but even it felt small at the thought of using it on a dragon, and she waited, knowing she couldn't do anything by herself off in the forest, especially as she couldn't fly. She'd have to take Az's advice and wait for it to arrive.

High Orc spits in Azendals general direction. "Ye don't know much about either fightin' or morale whelp, methinks ye ought to shut yer mouth an' stay yer fears. The slayer walks among ye! Direct me to yer dragon and let me handle the rest though..." The orc pauses a moment to grin and wipe some sweat from his forehead with his clean gauntlet. "If it be really an ancient wyrm, some backup might be useful, if any o' ye be up to it."

A piercing fills the market place as a ghostly image forms in the center of town. The image was colossal, easily reaching two hundred feet high, possibly even more. The creature that appeared had two massive horns that swept back atop its head, the bone twisting around. Rows of small horns protrude from head all the way down towards the jaw and neck. The snout is beaked and there is a smell of sulfur that fills the market place. An astral projection of a Great Wyrme Red Dragon "Pitiful Mortals!"

Mar'Kahla Sumari would come out of the Jester's Treasure Chest and lock the door behind her to make her way toward the scene of rather gruesome proportions. She looked about the area at the dead bodies before finally spying Max and made her way over to him "Max? Max what in the..." her words were cut off by the terrible roar of the dragon above and sunk down on the ground, eyes open in utter horror at seeing a red dragon here.

"I am the Great Dragon Ascendant Azeroth! You will heed my words or I shall roast you alive!" There was a wave of terror that swept through the market place, though it wasn't a magical effect. This was truly a Great Wyrm Dragon, a creature who had survived millennia of punishment and trials. A creature of terrible power and wisdom.

Kayle Haven didn't really respond to the offered flee of Rynn. Instead he turned to face the presence of the vast and massive dragon that entered through the Astral. He approached calmly but to see what the creature spoke for. It wasn't odd for a Dragon to talk down to other races, specifically reds...vain, even by dragon standards. Regardless their vanity was not short of their power or pride, and to be considered. He stood in wait, listening.

Shizukesa rolled his eyes as he heard the orc. "Under different circumstances I would be offended but right now but ohh damnit. "He whirled about and eyed the astral projection that he had to look up at, and he couldn’t help but try and play the diplomat "What is it you seek from us?"

Maxwell Evans staggers with the tremendous roar, covering his ears. He cranes his head back to look up to the projection, light blue eyes wide, "This isn't good..". He looks to Mar'Kahla and rests a hand on her shoulder, "We have to protect the rest of the city..Make sure there are no more deaths.", he softly squeezes the shoulder to try and bring some assurance to her, and to himself. It was time for the mage guild to act..

High Orc's face betrays almost for a moment, the primal feeling of something near to fear that was within the green champion, but it lasted a sparse moment, a single spark falling into the deep well of excitement that was now overflowing within the orc., He hadn't faced a being of this magnitude since his last encounter with Barten. Bloodmonath stepped forwards, directly in front of the monstrous projection and crossed his arms, a scowl across his face. He wouldn't try to speak over the dragon, but he had a few words ready for when it finished it's speech.

Mar'Kahla Sumari looks to Max after a moment when the dragon spoke "Y-yes. We need defenses. Where should we start Max?" she looked to him now... she needed some idea of where to even start.

Rynn Ravencross tightened her grip on the lance, the only indication she gave of the dragon fear that spread through the market, eyeing the projection. "Whatever it is you seek, Ascendant Azeroth, you will not find it here!" she called out loudly. "Leave these people alone, for they have done nothing to you."

The guards the remained raised their staffs and attempted to swing at the creature, but their blows passed straight through. It was only an image, not the real thing. The beast's voice booms again, the whole world seeming to rumble "What is this?! A fly orders it's superior?!" The beast laughs loudly, a bit of fire dribbling from its mouth, black smoke pouring from its nose but this too was an illusion "You want to know what I want, little fly? I'll tell you. . . So that you all know why you will die!"

"One of your own has awoken me from my deepest of slumbers, only to mock me as it ran with some of my horde! It screamed as it left that he was a Horde Stealer from this city! I sense my gold, Fly. . . I know it is in this city!" The projection roars in anger, the whole world seeming to shake once more "I plan on roasting the thief and eating him alive. . . And after that, I will tear apart this pitiful excuse for a city apart where it stands! No one will ever question the wrath of AZEROTH!"

A huge shadow, crawled across the already darkened city, as a huge object flew into view over the city. Silhouetted by the moonlight, she was beautiful, composed of graceful lines and full curves. She glided through the air like an angel, floating on the winds. Her beauty was so breathtaking that it pained the heart to look on her and not be able to touch her. She flew over the city toward the marketplace.

Trega Merekid stood at the helm of the Roving Wench as she flew above the marketplace. "Aury, Oz, look down there for anyone we might find useful."

Sinab landed on a roof at the edge of the Market, her gaze flicking over the scene to take it in for but a moment. It was then she spotted the large wyrm, her form shrinking back some at its voice. It was a projection? No.. She had no doubt the thing was real.. And would kill them if they didn't appease it. She found herself praying to a God she never knew that it wouldn't harm those present, though she cared little for most of them. Slowly she crept down the side, and dropped to the ground, the young silver moving along the sides of the buildings towards the crowd. The scent of blood and death seeming only to heighten her hunger for trouble. She glanced up as the shadow approached, her form coming to stop then as she watched, wondering what the great beauty would do.

Rynn Ravencross stepped back at the rage of the projection, glancing up as another shadow darkened the city, wondering what else was to happen. 'You can have the thief, dragon, but you cannot have the city!"

Maxwell Evans reached to the pouch at his side and loosened the strings, fumbling around in it until he pulled a black orb from it. "I'm not certain if there is much we can do to slow it..Do you have your rock from the monastery?", the light blue eyes turn towards her.

Azendal Verisi scrambles to his feet and points towards the massive image in front of him, though his legs trembled with fear as he did "We. . . We do not fear you, Azeroth! We will defeat you! We will triumph!" He shakes his fist at the image of the dragon

High Orc takes off his gauntlets and rests them on the ground a moment so he couple unloop several lengths of chain from the batch wrapped around his left forearm, just enough that he could continue to unwrap it once the gauntlet was replaced on his hand. He then looks up at the dragon and bellows in an impressive, though almost quiet compared to the dragon, tone. "ARG DRAGON BE THAT ALL YE HAVE TO SAY YE OVERSIZED SON OF A SWAMP TOAD! THE SLAY....." Bloodmonath turns his attention to the silhouette for a moment before turning back to the dragon to bellow at it. "THE SLAYER WALKS THE EARTH, SO GO PISS YER PANTS OR SCALES OR WHATEVER YE GOTS AND THEN BE CRAWLIN BACK INTO WHATEVER MARSH YE DRAGGED YER ARSE OUT OF."

Shizukesa (hopes to be taken out early needs sleep) looked up at the projection, oh he was terrified, particularly since he was no more than twenty feet tall himself. "We can get you the gold, we can resolve this, please, for this, for what you are doing, will make the people hunt our kind, skin us all the more, you have to quell your rage for you damn us all!"

Maxwell Evans ..Then turned his gaze skywards, at the flying..ship? He stared slack jawed at it for a moment but a grin spread across his face. Their odds just got better. He let a small charge from his staff shoot upwards into the sky, hoping that they would spot it.

Auryon Rivorn dug her hand for a moment deep into a concealed pocket in her pants, feeling the unusual sized coin that she had 'acquired' earlier today in the minor chaos that had brought on the major. She was already looking, eyes squinting down below, "Rynn's down 'er, off to the side. She's yellin, not at us, I don't think.. "she'd try to avoid looking up at the projection, the voice was already too much. She felt a slight feeling of dread, mixed with the excitement, that kept her on her feet, " Loosen' one of the ropes here, an' if we lower ourselves down a bit, we might be able to grab her!"

The Great Dragon stares down at the pitiful humans below it and starts to chuckle, the chuckle turning into a rumble, and finally the dragon bursts out in laughter, it's malicious cackling sending a chill through the market place "You have fourteen days then. . . Mobilize whatever army you see fit to have! Come at me with everything you have. . . COME AT ME AND DIE!" The dragon gives one final roar before the image slowly dissipates away

Azendal Verisi collapses back down onto the ground as the figure of the dragon disappears, his legs shaking with fear "Oh my god. . . What have we done? We've just challenged a Dragon Ascendant. . . A Great Wyrm Red Dragon Ascendant. . . There's no way we can win!" The boy was hysteric, his voice trembling with fear

High Orc snorts at the fading image "ARG That's what I thought..." And turns around to face the remaining guards in the square, casting a disapproving gaze on Azendal. "ARG, can someone either shut that coward up or move 'I’m elsewhere? He obviously ain't of no use save to leave out as bait fer big ole scales there."

Rynn Ravencross turned to Az after the visage had disappeared. "Get a hold of yourself!" she said firmly, but not unkindly. "Giving into fear will do you no good. If you fear him so much, you have two weeks to get out of the city." she told him, gritting her teeth and taking a breath, trying to calm her racing heart and thoughts, as she tried to figure out what could be done, unaware of the pirates on the ship above her.

Mar'Kahla Sumari nodded and dug into the pouch at her side holding the stone in her hands, feeling its welcome warmth of the power it held within it as she looked to Max "Do you think they are powerful enough to fight a dragon max? I have only been able to get as far as a human sized elemental and control it with any real desired effect

Trega Merekid pointed to a box built into the side of the ship. "In there." Inside she'd find harnesses and repelling lines. He brought the ship around and swooped down over the crowd.

Azendal Verisi slowly stands up "No. . . No this is what Volungranz trained me for. . . I will fight. I will fight with everything I have. It's my duty as a Dragonchild to fight this evil monster!"

Sinab watched as the image disappeared, her form darting across the ground then, paying no heed to bodies that she stepped on, moving towards Shizu and Rynn. She had heard the creature’s threat, and a part of her was more than a little afraid for the safety of the city. She said nothing until she reached at least one of the two, bright eyes looking down. "I can help.."

Auryon Rivorn found the harness with little trouble, Rynn's position shifting as she prepared it, "She's moving too much.. " The white light from Max caught her eyes, "Over there. Let her stay grounded.." she'd adjust the harness, attaching it the best she could to the ropes.

Shizukesa snarled as he looked around the market, there were a lot of windows that needed replacing, the wounded had been carried off ,the dead had to be mourned. Curiously, that lovely theatre was spared any damage thanks to it being so nice. he lurched back towards the others. "That is one powerful dragon.."

High Orc walks to the middle of the square and looks around at everyone who had mustered the nerve to remain and releases an audible sigh. He wished the league were within 14 days, or that Thoth was here, for all his bluster, he didn't expect his chances against such a creature were exceptionally good with his current gear. "ARG anyone else 'ere fought a dragon o' similar size afore? Or a god or somethin strong enough to be callin' itself a god? Methinks we ought to be develipin' a strategy..." The orc asks, not particularly hopeful in getting any sort of response.

Kayle Haven stood with passing thoughts. This one made no sense. Either this was the dumbest dragon he'd ever encountered, or...well that was it. Reds, above all dragons desired power and riches. Destruction was in their methods, make no mistake, but they were far more calculating than this, far smarter. A city in ruin was not near as useful as a city under their command. He shook his head and pondered the idea that this one be an outcast that just happened to fly under the radar long enough to grow and hold a violent grudge. But a dragon that couldn't be reasoned with was far beyond what made sense.

Maxwell Evans shakes his head slightly, "I don't know..We have time to come up with a plan though..", he points upwards towards the ship that was drifting lower and lower, "..Though I think the dragon might be at a disadvantage, picking the oddest city in this land..", a soft chuckle escapes him as he looks over those in the crowd..He certainly wasn't wrong.

Trega Merekid swung about, crossing the crowd diagonally. "Was that a flare?!"

Azendal Verisi looks towards the crowd and cups his hands to his face "The Dragon has given us a fortnight to prepare! We need to call a strategy! Please. . . If you have power in your hearts and in your hands, come with us!"

Auryon Rivorn was laughing now, "Sure was, they're almost directly below us now. Lowerin' the harness, I'll need some help pullin' em up." she'd glance over her shoulder, looking mainly for Oz, uncertain of what he was off doing. "How many are comin' up?" she'd shout down, as she began to drop the harness and rope towards the Mages below.

Oswald McBeaty looks away from where the image of the dragon had been. "Two weeks to prepare, well that I can work with." He looks up and sees Auryon and runs over to lend a hand.

Rynn Ravencross sighed, looking at the lance in her hand. "Evacuations need to start, for those wanting to leave. Then we will need to prepare the city." this was reminding her too much of Toria, and the war she had brought there unintentionally. There had been dragons there too, though none of the size and power of this one. "Anyone with abilities will be asked to stay behind. That doesn't mean just magic, but blacksmiths, armorers, and the like will be needed as well." she was trying to think of all that could be done in two weeks time. The trebuchets the city had in its arsenal would have to be worked on, and enspelled.

Mar'Kahla Sumari nodded and felt the stone in her fingers "Two weeks..." she looks to Max "I may have to take my golem making to larger extremes. I could attempt to make something that might be able to distract the dragon long enough during the fight to get a good solid blow to it"

Maxwell Evans looks towards the gathered crowd, then back to Mar'Kahla, "I won't ask you to come with me..It is your choice to make.", he turns and moves towards Azendal and the others, "The mage guild will do what it can to help.", he offers a friendly smile to those gathered as he returns the orb of storms to the pouch.

Azendal Verisi smiles shakily towards Rynn "I shall gather what allies I can. . . We will need everything in order to fight this creature. And I really do mean everything. . . But first we have to see too the citizens that survived the mob. I'm sure they've already ran. . . And Rynn. . . Nobody should be forced to stay. This is a suicide mission. You know that."

High Orc crosses his arms and snorts, and for a moment debates tossing his gauntlets aside and seeking out the dragon on his own, but upon second thought, decided it was probably far enough away that he couldn't likely reach it on foot within that time. "ARG, Methinks If anyone be caring to listen to me advice, that we'd best be attemptin' to intercept this thing afore it gets to town. It would be bad new fer me to fight this thing near anythin' that could be destroyed."

Rynn Ravencross glanced at Az and shook her head. "I said asked, not forced," she said tensely. "I would not force anyone to stay who didn't want to." she glanced up at the ship, shaking her head. That was a new one to her. "But at least we have people here who can be of help."

Mar'Kahla Sumari nodded softly and followed after Max looking to Rynn and giving a simple nod. She would help in any way she could. This was her home now... and she wasn't about to see it brought to ruin by a dragon

Azendal Verisi points upwards towards the ship "Everyone who wishes to fight should climb aboard. . . That's where I'm going after all. To fight!" With that the boy scampers up the rope, stopping halfway to look down at the orc "Come with us, Bloodmonath! Soak your hands in the blood of an ancient creature!"

Shizukesa didn’t like the odds of two weeks but weary as he was he shifted back down to his humanoid form and joined
Rynn and the others. "I'll direct evacuees." he knew there was a town not far from eldarus and headed down to the main gate leading out of eldarus to direct those who fled on which way to go to get to a safe town, shouting sternly to insure they kept order.

Auryon Rivorn gave hard tug on the rope, to keep the line nice and taut to make it easier for those climbing aboard to manage, she'd give a slight grunt as Azendal maneuvered over the side of the ship.

Rynn Ravencross nodded at Shizu, glad that at least someone was taking charge of that, and followed Az up the rope, climbing easily hand over hand and got onto deck, looking for the pirates, striding over to them. "Trega, what in the name of the gods is your ship doing flying?" she said with a raised brow, shaking her head. 'Not that I am complaining."

High Orc frowns at the ship and shakes his head, waving one of the oddly colored purple gauntlets at him. "I'd be lovin' the opportunity to travel with ye lad, but unfortunately flyin' ships an' me don't be mixin. Godsbane don't give me the luxury o' choosin' which type o' powers it negates, even the helpful ones. If I got aboard yer ship ye'd all find yerselves on the ground in a hurry. I'll 'ave to travel behind ye"

Maxwell Evans nods in agreement with orc, "We should meet it before it hits the city..", he looks from his staff to the rope, not quite sure how he'd manage to climb it.

Trega Merekid smiled broadly at Rynn, none of these seeming to even dent his irritatingly endearing self confidence. "I've been trying to tell you: There's more to me than you realize, you just refuse to look past the flag, honey."

Just outside the walls of the city, a campsite was being erected. Survivors of the Market Place disaster had warned the rest of the citizens, and a mass evacuation had occurred. They were all saying the same thing. That eldarus was no longer safe and that the city had fallen. What would become of their town? They all looked towards the flying ship, their last shred of hope lingering on it.
