· Disorderly Conduct
o Disorderly Individual *
A Disorderly Individual charge is placed on any one person who blatantly disrupts the peace and order of the city and fails to cease doing so when warned by an officer of law.
Penalty for this crime is typically imprisonment until the following morning, payment for any damages caused, and possibly fines and/or community service.
o Disorderly Party *
A Disorderly Party charge is placed on any group of people who blatantly disrupt the peace and order of the city and fails to cease doing so when warned by an officer of law.
Penalty for this crime is typically imprisonment until the following morning, payment for any damages caused, and possibly fines and/or community service. The ringleader of such a party may also be subject to one to two days in the stocks.
o Inciting a Riot *
A charge of Inciting a Riot is placed on a person who attempts to cause others of the populace to riot.
Penalty for this crime is typically two to four days in the stocks, or a prison sentence of equal duration, payment for damages caused, and fines.
o Public Intoxication *
A charge of Public Intoxication is a charge placed against a person who engages in disorderly behavior due to intoxication of alcohol or drugs.
Penalty for this crime is typically imprisonment until the offender is sober, and payment for any damages caused.
o Resisting Arrest
This charge is added on when a person attempts to avoid apprehension for commission of a crime. The added punishment depends upon the crime in question. At minimum it requires two days in the stocks.
· Theft and Robbery
o Petty Theft *
Petty Theft is the charge of any theft by one or more persons from another of items or money totaling less than or equal to 5,000 gold.
Penalty for this crime is typically the return/replacement of the items or the monetary value thereof and fines to the court equal to the value of the theft. Alternatively, the court can impose jail sentences of one day for every 500 gold in place of fines or in the case that the convicted criminal cannot pay the fines.
o Grand Theft
Grand Theft is the charge of any theft by one or more persons from another, of items or money totaling more than 5,000 gold.
Penalty for this crime is typically the return/replacement of the items or the monetary value thereof and fines to the court equal to the value of the theft as well as one day in the stocks for every 1,000 gold of the value of the theft. Alternatively, the court can impose jail sentences of one day for every 500 coin in place of fines or in the case that the convicted criminal cannot pay the fines.
o Mugging *
Mugging is the charge added when Petty or Grand Theft is accompanied by Simple or Aggravated Assault.
Penalty for this crime is typically two to six days in the stocks or an equally long jail sentence.
o Robbery *
Robbery is the charge added to a Petty or Grand Theft for breaking into a location and stealing items or money from within.
Penalty for this crime typically includes payment for damage done to the broken into location and a community service assignment.
· Assault and Battery
o Simple Assault *
Simple assault is the charge of one person attacking and harming another.
Penalty for this typically includes a jail sentence of two to five days, payment of reparations to the victim, and fines.
o Aggravated Assault
Aggravated Assault is the charge of an assault with added circumstances. Ganging up on someone, causing excessive injury or mutilation, attacking a person of privilege, etc. constitutes Aggravated Assault.
In such a case, the penalty typically includes five to ten days in the stocks, public lashings or beatings, and/or other special punishments as fit the aggravating circumstances.

o Simple Brawling ^
Simple Brawling is an amendment to the Assault laws. After dark, in the city’s common areas, two or more persons may engage in unarmed, non lethal combat. It is required, however, that such brawls be taken outside and that anything broken or damaged in the process be paid for by the brawlers.
If a brawler submits or is rendered unconscious or disabled, the brawl is over. Continuing to attack such a person shall be charged as Aggravated Assault. If a brawler draws a weapon, he shall be charged with Aggravated Assault.
o Dueling ^
Unless authorized by order of the court, any person not of nobility dueling within the city is illegal. Anyone who is not a noble caught engaged in such a duel will be charged with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault.
· Murder
o Attempted Murder
Assault with the intent to kill the victim is charged as Attempted Murder.
o Base Murder
The simple, intentional killing of one person by another is charged as Base Murder.
o Manslaughter
In the case where one person’s actions result in the death of another unintentionally it is charged as Manslaughter.
o Insidious Murder
Murder, when it includes circumstances of a particularly vile nature, is charged as Insidious Murder.
Penalty for this crime is death.
