Army of Shadows - Modern RP - Characters

Keep in mind that all characters listed here are for their reference only. Any IC knowledge of them are considered to be an act of meta-gaming. Because of the secrecy to the setting of AoS, it is important to remember that most of the characters do not actively know about one another.


Chaltah Songblade

At some point during Chaltah's adventures in Eldarus, her life was changed when she came across a pocket of stasis energy. Unable to escape its effects, Chaltah spent a good portion of her life unconscious trapped inside the time-stasis source. During the 1940's, Nazi engineers discovered the site of her location situated in the remote Himalayan mountains, not far from modern Tibet. With the discovery of the stasis, they attempted to research and utilize the energy into developing a weapon of mass destruction - a stasis field bomb. However, due to the intervention of Allied forces in 1944, the operation itself was abandoned. Chaltah, on the other hand, was not.

As a result of experimentation, she managed to recover from the effects of the time-stasis, but due to having spent a long period of time her mortal longevity was lengthened. The Allies took returned her to North America where she began training as part of the OSS Occult department. Her role in the conflict was crucial, and towards the end of the war she successfully stopped a supersoldier program. Her files are locked away in a top secret facility, closed for the next 200 years.

In the years following the war, Chaltah spent a good portion of her life active in the American side of the Cold War conflict. A majority of her time was spent between the United Kingdom and the United States, serving as a consultant and eventually switching roles into the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). It is rumored that she may have played a criticial role in resolving the Cuban Missile Crisis. She retired in 1982, moving to Canada until called to service again during the Afghan and Gulf Wars. Following the September 11th attacks, she was active briefly until 2009 when she retired again. Not long afterwards she was forcibly recruited by Faith Industries as part of their spec ops program.

Skills & Contacts
* Due to her long career in the CIA and the OSS, Chaltah has knowledge of operatives and safehouses in Europe and North America. She has access to several hidden listening posts and databanks.

* Chaltah has high ranks of pre-civilized culture. She also possesses language skills in English, German, Russian, Elven, Dwarven and Undercommon.

* Chaltah also possesses high ranks in archaic and medieval weaponry, close combat skills. She is proficient in the use of firearms, primarily pistols.

* As part of her CIA and OSS training, Chaltah has break-and-entry skills, information gathering, stealth and espionage talents. She is also a certified commercial pilot and can handle aeronautical seaplanes, gliders and helicopters.

* Due to her connections in the CIA and OSS, Chaltah has access to databanks, safehouses and resources in Europe and North America. As well, because of her experience, she has knowledge regarding some shadow operations that exist in the United States.

Kenoth

Kenoth spent a good majority of his life in the underdark during the 1800's, near the tunnel mouths by Moscow. He was once a member of the five great houses, but emerged into the surface shortly. During his time there he was involved in the Russian Revolution, fighting for the loyalist regime that inevitably failed. He fled into exile during the Marxist era, fleeing to the United Kingdom then the United States. He served actively during the First World War acting as a Russian spy.

During this time period, Kenoth utilized his knowledge of the Underdark networks to provide aid for the resistance during the World War II, acting as a resistance member and a saboteur. His involvement played a critical role towards the end, disrupting supply lines and preventing the enemy from gaining vital support during the winter of 1944. Following the end of the war, he joined the Israeli Mossad during the months following the Munich Massacre, participating in Operation Wrath of God and Operation Spring of Youth. He retired as a mercenary after a brief career in the Afghan and Gulf Wars.

Sometime after the 9/11 attacks, the Underdark contacted him due to a UN led investigation regarding their suspected involvement. As a result, Kenoth returned to the Middle East and went into hiding, but was turned away by his former associates. At some point he retreated into Europe, where shortly afterwards Faith Industries apprehended him.

Skills & Backgrounds
* As part of his training in the Mossad, alongside his roles in the resistance groups during previous conflicts, Kenoth is highly skilled as a saboteur and has experience in demolitions and guerilla tactics.

* Kenoth is an expert with the IDF form of Krav Maga. His espionage career gives him basic stealth and information gathering skills.

* Kenoth is fluent in English, French, German, Polish, Arabic, Elven, and Undercommon.

* Due to his career with the IDF, he has contacts in the Middle East and Europe, and access to safehouses and resources therein.

* Because of his connections, Kenoth has full access to the Underdark Tunnels and Stone Henge Relays. He also has access to Mossad information cells and databanks. He has great depth and knowledge of Underdark politics and rumors.

* Due to his experience with the Mossad, Kenoth is highly skilled with firearms and military tactics. He is proficient with almost all forms of firearm weaponry.

Crimson

Little is known about Crimson, in comparison to the other members of the Army of Shadows, but what is known is that he is rumored to be an elder vampire. He has been recorded as a known mercenary and a professional thief, operating in the beginning within Denmark and Finland. There are rumors that he may be a descendant of Erik the Red himself.

What is known about Crimson is that he may have been a primary suspect in several major heists throughout history itself. His prominent role as a hired gun has led to speculation that he may also be responsible for several notable assassinations. No solid evidence has surfaced regarding his involvement in these killings.

His presence was known as far back as the 1700's and particularly during the French Revolution. Evidence has pointed him to be responsible for the theft of the Eye of Lith'Larr, an Underdark gem. As a result intelligence agencies have tried to monitor his activities within Europe and elsewhere. Towards the end of the 20th century, he was caught and transferred to the Army of Shadows program.


Skills & Contacts
* Because of his vampiric origins, Crimson has minor standing in the hidden networks of other vampiric kindred throughout France and minor European countries.

* Crimson has language skills in English, French, Swedish, Finnish, Dutch, German and Italian.

* Crimson possesses arcane knowledge, information regarding mercenary and supernatural circles, historical knowledge dating as far back as the 12th century. He does have a drawback in that the memories before then have since become vague.

* Because of his age, Crimson has a developed immunity to sunlight which only hinders him slightly. He possesses the ability of superhuman speed, strength and endurance. He does require a constant amount of vitae (blood) to fuel the usage of his powers. When not active, however, he can sustain himself for an indefinite amount of time ranging into whole months at a time.

* Crimson is skilled with blades, primarily his custom made daggers. Both daggers possess minor enchantments and are silver imbued, designed to fight against incorporeal enemies. He is also skilled in firearms, primarily submachine guns and sniper rifles.

* In Denmark, he has access to a Shadowgate, a device designed to travel across the globe through the shadow planes.

Raul Sudeco

Raul was born in 1900 at the turn of the century in Michigan. He studied law and joined a police career, eventually transferring to the newly formed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He was present during the Prohibition and War on Crime era that saw the demise of several mafia families and the end of the bank robber eras. At the height of his career, he may have been responsible for the death of Bonnie and Clyde Barrow.

While investigating a voodoo occult gang in New Orleans, he was attacked by a vampire and changed. He was transferred to the newly formed OSS and deployed into the European theatre during the Second World War. There he was captured by Axis forces and forced into an arduous nazi experiment program. As a result, he was miraculously transformed back into his human form, but retained several characteristics from his past.

Upon returning to America, he volunteered into one of the American shadow operation programs, known as Phoenix Zero. His operations included Operation Green Mill and the Fae Insurrection in Brazil. It was rumored that he was involved in an attempted investigation of Underdark operatives near the Canadian border. He retired in 1975.

When the Gulf Wars broke out, Raul was brought out of retirement and returned to the unit until the September 11th attacks. The unit was disbanded shortly afterwards and he returned to seclusion. Eventually he was contacted by the American government and offered a position with the Army of Shadows program.

Skills & Contacts

* Because of his career in the FBI, Raul has access to the federal databanks and resources.

* Raul is skilled with firearms of all variations. He is also a certified pilot with military grade aerial and nautical vehicles. His training allows him to have an advanced understanding of technological design, allowing him to repair and modify such vessels.

* Because of his connections in the OSS and Phoenix Zero, along with his career roles, Raul has contacts in North and South America. He has access to safehouses and resources there.

* Due to his transformation, Raul retains some of his vampiric traits. He has regenerative qualities and can heal moderate wounds up to a week. He has enhanced strength and endurance. However, his speed and agility powers are limited by fatigue.
