Special abilities (if any): Clopin holds no real power over the whizzes and bangs of the wizards. But, he has some power over his storytelling, allowing him to play musical instruments from far away, and create illusions to better portray his story. Parlor tricks are his specialty

Brief character description: As many of you have born witness too, Clopin is a storyteller. He travels from city to city, learning of their historical points and weaves them into tales of heroes and magical wonders. He has traveled to many many cities before Eldarus, and has a bit more than a story to offer.

History of Clopin: It has been almost fifty years since the western city of Azalin has fallen, but stories of its wonders are still told today. Whispers are still heard of the great purge of Ravenblack, where a hundred plus hunters were wiped out in an instant by a single vampire defending his city. What of the grand city of justice that lay in the northern reaches of the world? How did it come to be nothing but a feeling of misery and pain? These tales and more travel with but one man, who bore witness to them all, and more! Clopin DesCormiers, storyteller extraordinare! He was born into a noble family in the old city of Azalin, and was studying to be a scholar when the town was attacked by a rogue group of nomads. The wanderers were too powerful for the peaceful kingdom, and it was soon over come and destroyed.

Left without a home, Clopin moved to the east, hoping to find some kind of city. What he did find, was a group of Gypsies performing in the middle of a field. Transfixed by their laughter, he edged closer and closer. Upon being spotted, he was whisked away into the camp, not as a prisoner, but as a performer in their festival. It seems young Clopin, now at the tender age of eleven, had studied many tales of different origins, and had most of them memorized. For fifteen years, Clopin traveled with the Gypsies, telling stories to whatever town he came too. As his knowledge of history and tall tales grew, so did his respect in the caravan. He soon came to be the leader of the Gypsies Caravan, and kept them protected from the law.

On his travels, one particular audience member loved his performance so much that he invited Clopin to dinner with him. It was here that Clopin gained his slight control over the arcane, for the amused audience member was a wizard of remarkable strength, and he blessed Clopin with longevity, and the powers to bring his stories all over the world. Now, Clopin has come to Eldarus to seek out his fortune in the town, for it had been a poor year for the Caravan. Children are starving, and many of the elders in the Caravan need medical treatment. That is why Clopin has come to Eldarus.

So please, take a seat and have some wine. He'll be more than happy to tell you the deepest, darkest secrets of the land, and those who travel them.
