Special Abilities: Rupert has considerable skill as a commander of cavalry soldiers, employing bold and most notably, swift, battlefield and strategic movements. He has a reputation as an energetic and quick-witted commander, full of dash and elan. Conversely this has led to his critics accusing him of being brash and reckless in the face of the enemy, despite his successful exploits on the field.

Character Description: He possess a frank and generous disposition, shows a quickness of intellect, is prepared to face grave dangers, and can be thorough and patient when necessary. However, he lacks the social graces and manners of those raised in his class, and can often become quite abrasive. His humour can turn into a sardonic wit and a contemptuous manner; with a hasty temper, he is too quick to say who he respects, and who he dislikes. The result is that, while Rupert can inspire great loyalty in some, especially the men he leads into battle, he also makes many enemies, some of them powerful politically. His short temper has been rumored to take more sanguine expressions, Rupert having been accused of commiting atrocities and massacres against enemy soldiers and garrisons.

Character History : Rupert was born into an important and influential aristocratic family with a martial family tradition stretching back several centuries. The family enjoyed a very wealthy and lavish lifestyle, complete with extensive gardens and a very large library. Unfortunately for Rupert, his father, Frederick, lost a grave defeat at the hands of his political and military enemies and the family was forced to flee and live in exile at a sympathetic court. Here Rupert would be raised by Monsieur and Madame de Plessen, hired by his father as governors to Rupert. He was brought up on a strict school routine including logic, mathematics, writing, drawing, singing and playing instruments. He excelled in art and found the maths and sciences easy. As a child, Rupert was at times badly behaved, 'fiery, mischievous, and passionate' and earned himself the nickname "Rupert The Devil". After his schooling Rupert became a soldier early; at the age of 14 he attended a prestigious military school. He went on to fight in numerous conflicts in the employ of various nobles and crowned heads sympathetic to his exiled family. Rupert quickly acquired a reputation for fearlessness in battle, high spirits and considerable industry. Indeed, he was considered to have been a quick-thinking and energetic commander of horse, earning positions such as Captain-of-Horse and General-of-Horse in the Armies he fought in.
